Securing high quality services for people in Norfolk with care and support needs, including many of the most vulnerable in our society, is core business for Norfolk County Council. We rely upon a market of providers for the vast majority of those services in which we now invest well over £290m a year. We work with the health and social care sector to deliver our responsibilities under the Care Act to ensure that the increasing demand for care and support services and changing expectations about choices in the type and quality of services that people in Norfolk want can be satisfied.
City College Norwich has a long-established role in training Norfolks future health and social care workforce, as well supporting the professional development of those already in the sector. With the support of our excellent employer partners, we offer work-related pathways into all areas of health and social care - through full-time courses for 16-18 year olds, Apprenticeships and degrees.
We know what an amazing sector this is to be a part of, and we are privileged to work with so many inspirational students and employers who are so committed to providing the very best care and support. We are proud to be a sponsor of the Norfolk Care Awards and congratulate all of the nominees and winners on your exceptional contribution and achievements.

We see at first hand the effect that good care by those involved in end of life support impacts upon the bereaved. In the vast majority of cases families express great gratitude and thankfulness to their care providers. In the rare cases that this is not so, the consequences can be devastating, This is why we support the NORFOLK CARE AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE IN END OF LIFE CARE.

Our Pharmacists Advice Visits can help you with the complexities of medicines management and look at the use of antipsychotic medication if appropriate, to help you keep your residents safe.
